وافق الاتحاد الإسبانى لكرة القدم على نقل مباريات كأس السوبر الإسبانى من المملكة العربية السعودية إلى مدينة إشبيلية، بسبب انعدام الأمن الذى يشكله وباء فيروس كورونا دوليًا، وتم إخطار الأندية الـ 4 المشاركة فى البطولة، بعد اقتراح من منظمين البطولة بتغيير الملعب، على الرغم من حقيقة أنهم وقعوا اتفاقية لمدة ثلاث سنوات مع الاتحاد الإسباني لاستضافة البطولة.
